Timings in the stock market


hi all before entering into stock market every investor and trader must know the timings in the stock market in India to buy and sell the shares in those timings only there are two major stock exchanges in India Bombay stock exchange and national stock exchange both the timings are same and the prices of stocks are same
in this post will explain the stock market timings in India every day the exchanges are opened and the trading sessions are 9.15 to 3.30 is a normal timing session to place a buy and sell orders but the stock market has given a holiday on festival times and its workings day in a week is 5 days (Monday to Friday)


in the same way, the order exchanges like mcx and ncdex are had different sessions mcx as 10:00 to 11:30 and ncdex is working time is 11:00 to 5:00
And coming to stock market bse and nse session we must know the real timing session is 9:00 to 4:00 in that mean period again the trading sessions are divided into three types
Normal trading session
Pre-opening session
Post-closing session

Normal Timing Session :

the normal timing session is an actual time most of the traders investors takes place, in this session we can place a buy and sell orders this session is between 9:15 to 3: 30, normal timing session is a bilateral matching session to buying price is equal to the selling price, the transaction is complete here transaction are as per price and time priority

pre-opening session :

the time duration of the session is between 9:00 to 9:08, you can place an order in entry session, you can place a buy and sell order in this session and you can modify or cancel the order during this session period

in the time 9:08 to 9:12 this session is used for order matching time the exchange calculated the yesterday closing price and today order prices and sets the prices, you can place an order and modify - cancel the order during the time in the timing 9:12 to 9:15 this session is set the day opening prices of the shares, in this time starts the share price is fluctuating by the various aspects it is used translation of pre-opening session to the normal session

however, most of the peoples are using only normal trading sessions why because they get more number of buyer and seller and as a huge volatility in the normal session

another session is included in this session is related to closing session

the time between 3.30 to 3.40 the session is a pre-closing session almost market is closed and all peoples are closes their transactions after 3: 30, for the index like Sensex-nifty its closing price will be calculated on the bases of the weighted average of the constituent stocks for the last minutes

post-closing session :

the time duration of the session is 3:40 to 4:00 you can place a buy and sell order in this session if the buyer and seller is available in the market for any company share and finally the stock exchanges calculate and fixed the price of the stock as a closing price of the day

Note:

pre and post opening session of the stock market is only for equity and intraday in cash market .there is no futures and options transactions involved in this sessions

if you are not able to trade in this session period you can place an AMO order (aftermarket order) there are no actual timings for AMO orders you can place your orders at any time

in additionally stock market also opens in special days and special trading periods is knows as muhurat tradings.
